Do i need antivirus on my Linux Mint laptop even though its less prone to viruses? Cuz i heard some malware can still affect it.

Hi @LinuxGuru88 - welcome to CF

Generally speaking, you can get away with not running AV on Linux, as long as you're careful to only use software from trusted sources and not download random files or click unsolicited links. On Linux in particular be careful of pasting random commands into a terminal, especially ones that pipe straight from curl to bash.

Linux by its nature is more secure "by default" and as it's less commonly used on the desktop it's not a typical target for the bad guys. But it's not totally immune either.

If you are concerned - have a look at ClamAV / Clamscan which lets you scan your system.
